Hannah Hoch
Using an abstract genre to create pieces that use multiple elements form various paper sources to create art that exaggerates, mocks and reconceptualises images, Hannah Hoch’s art is typically based around political issues and figures using cut-outs from various photographs, magazines and newspapers to create her art. This form or art was part of the ‘berlin dada’ movement.
Though the application of her art style is not my personal favourite I do
like the use of splicing to create images of a new form by combining features
of all manner of people and creatures in interesting and humorous ways.
Therefore, to work in her style I will use images that I have taken and
potentially use photoshop instead of cut-outs to give this style a far more modern update to this style of art.
